Membership
of this Association shall consist of full and part-time employees
of the Soil & Water Conservation Districts within the State
of North Carolina. Each Association member shall be entitled
to one vote. Associate membership is available to Federal
and/or State employees who work closely with Districts. Associate
members have no voting power nor can hold an office.
Officers
are elected according to the provisions set forth in the Bylaws,
Article VI Section 2. The
present five officers are:

| The
Board of Directors shall consist of a representative from each of
the eight (8) Soil & Water District Areas.
These
Board of Directors, along with the Association Officers compose
the Executive Committee, and shall be the governing body of the
District Employees Association

OUR
STATEMENT AND PURPOSE
AS AN ASSOCIATION
|
- To
strengthen the local Soil and Water Conservation Districts of
North Carolina.
- To
provide assistance and information to the local Boards of Supervisors,
and to the employees of the Districts to resolve problems related
to renewable natural resource conservation.
- To
assist any agency, organization, municipality, group or individual
who support the Soil and Water Conservation Districts of North
Carolina in the spirit of cooperation, sound conservation practice
and proper land use.
- To
promote, create, and improve efficiency in the operations of the
District offices of the counties of the state.
- To
provide a vehicle for personal development of District Employees
and to assist them to better fulfill their responsibilities.

- Promotes
membership within the Association.
- Enhance
the positions of District Employees to:
- Make our positions more professional.
- Educate the general public of our duties and responsibilities.
- Have an opportunity to give and receive information on state committees.
- Work
for certification to augment employees education and increase
their general knowledge
