ASSOCIATION OF EMPLOYEES OF
SOIL & WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS
OBJECTIVE
The North Carolina
Association of Employees of Soil & Water Conservation Districts
Professional Growth Scholarship provides financial assistance to
members of the Association who are currently employed but who wish
to improve their technical or administrative competence in a conservation-related
field through course work at an accredited educational institution.
Attainment of a degree is not required.
ELIGIBILITY
An applicant
must (a) be a member in good standing of the NCDEA; (b) have demonstrated
integrity, ability, and competence in his or her work and possess
skills gained through training or experience; (c) have completed
at least one year of employment with a soil and water conservation
district, or a natural resource-related agency; (d) must be currently
employed in a natural resource related field; and (e) show reasonable
financial need.
AMOUNT
Scholarship amount will be based on need but will not exceed $500.
SCHOLARSHIP
PRESENTATION
The number of
scholarships and amounts to be awarded will be determined
based upon funds raised and interest available in the Scholarship
Endowment Fund of the NC Association of Employees of Soil
and Water Conservation Districts. Recognition of scholarship
recipient(s) and presentation of award(s) will be made at the annual
NC District Employees Workshop held in the spring of each
year.
